Magnus together with a Tibetan family living in the Nyenchen Tanghla area in western Tibet

My friend Magnus owns a Mutewatch and took it with him on his climbing trip in Tibet. Based in Stockholm and Chamonix, Magnus has always had a huge interest in mountains and outdoor life. Last year he and climbed the Denali mountain (highest peak in North America) together with our mutual friend Andreas and skied right down it.

The Tibetan family in the photo above lives in a stone house joined together with clay in a village in the southern Nyenchen Tanghla area in western Tibet. There are about ten adults and ten children in the village and their only income comes from the Yak. Oh, and I maybe forgot to mention that  this is at an altitude of 4800 meter above sea level (!)

For me, the best thing in the world is to travel and meet new people and cultures. There are so many kind people and beautiful places in the world to discover. I have always been interested in how other people live their lives and what values they have. I think my next trip will be to the mountains and kind-hearted people in Tibet because I think they have a lot to teach me about life. I hope they have coffee at 4800 meter above sea level though…
